Neighborhoods
What is Condesa like and where should I eat there?
If Roma Norte is where CDMX's food scene shows off, Condesa is where it lives. The neighborhood is built around two parks — Parque México and Parque España — and its streets curve rather than grid, which makes wandering rewarding.
Restaurants worth planning around
Merotoro for northern Mexican cooking with a Baja lean. Lardo (also Elena Reygadas) for lunch. Meroma for a modern Mediterranean-Mexican tasting. El Parnita (technically Roma Sur border) for weekend tacos.
Cafés
Cardinal Casa de Café for the most serious pour-over in the area. Blend Station for a slow work morning. Panadería Rosetta on Amsterdam for their Condesa outpost.
The parks
Parque México is the larger of the two — dog park in the morning, jogger circuit through the day, elegant Art Deco fountain at the center. Parque España is smaller and more residential.
Frequently asked
Quick answers
Is Condesa walkable?
+
Very. It is one of the most walkable neighborhoods in the city. The streets around Parque México form a natural loop and most restaurants, cafés, and boutique hotels are within a 10-minute walk of each other.
What is the best hotel in Condesa?
+
Condesa DF is the classic design hotel and still worth the room rate for its rooftop and central location. Villa Condesa is a smaller, quieter alternative. For apartment-style stays, look for listings on Amsterdam or Sonora streets.
